Price matching

What is the most asked question I come across? Maybe not on a daily basis but quite often. And no, I'm not annoyed, I love answering questions. But I am hoping by posting this that it clears things up for others who may be nervous to ask. I guess it's more of a subject then a question because it's all about PRICE MATCHING.
Here's the break down. Best place to PM, Wal-Mart. Why? No ad is needed. All you have to go is make your list at home, look through your ads, write down what you are getting, how much it costs, and what store you are going to match it to. For example, let's say there is a great deal on  scrubbing bubbles toilet bowl cleaner at Shopko. The sale is a 10.5oz can, all-in-one, or toilet bowl only, $1.50 @ Shopko. So what do you do with that? I get a notebook out, write the details down, including Brand, Size, Color, quantity, and anything else that might be included. Write the price after and then the store that it's on sale at.

Now it's time to go to Wal-Mart and match it. As long as they have the exact size, brand, color, quantity, etc, you're good.
You can match name brand to name brand, or store brand to store brand.
Here's a tip. If it's something spectalar like a six hour only sale, take the ad with you. They will want proof at that point since the deal is so limited. Other than that time though, you don't need an ad. Also, when you price match, you can still use coupons on the products after the PM is done.

Fareway price matching is another story. They will match only "local" competitors which is basically Hyvee, unless you have another small store in the area too. You must have the ad with you and if they don't sell that item in that size, there's no matching it then. Make sure though, if you are trying to price match for example, store brand sour cream, fareway doesn't actually have a store brand, so all you have to do is ask a manager what product they would consider their store brand to price match and they will tell you that you can use, say Land O lakes sour cream instead. Always ask. It never hurts, only helps. Even if the answer is no items match, at least you know for the next time.
I hope this clears PMing up a little bit more and if you still have questions, ask. Please?
