The Gillette Sale at DG this week

I wanted to verify how this deal would work at the Dollar General this week before I just assumed and posted how it usually worked, because sometimes, things don't always go the way anyone plans. So, I went into the store and had the cashier ring up the razor and shaving cream and hit total. When he did this a discount was taken, but it wasn't only off of the shaving cream, it was partially the cream and partially the razor, but the discount totalled the price of the shaving cream. By the way, Gillette Satin Care is on mark down this week for just $2.20, so that's the discount taken off.
Well it only took $.66 off of that shaving cream and the rest off the razor, which means, that you can still use coupons and save even more!!









There are 3 major coupons for Gillette right now, thanks to P&G. $1/1, $3/2 or $6/3. All will expire on the last day of this month, 11/30. Due to all the free shaving cream people got before though there are restrictions including Limit 1 shave gel/prep per coupon. That's fine. It'll still work out.
Okay. I cannot go to the store to try this deal out today, but I will be going tomorrow if you all want to wait for me to report back. Purchase 2 Gillette Venus Razors and 2 Gillette Satin Care Shaving creams.
Total comes to $11 for all 4 since the shaving creams are considered free.
Next, use $6/3 Gillette products and a $1/1 Gillette product.
After both of those coupons, you can pay a total of just $4 for all 4 items!
I am not sure if this will work though due to the fact that the discount taken from the shaving cream puts it under $2, which causes issues for the register.
Like I said, I will report back because these are great items for donation, gift baskets or back stock.
