How to utilize the 10# tube.

If you noticed, there is a sale on ground beef this week. What does that mean? Well you can buy a tube, or two and pay way less than normal. But then what? Go home and stick the tube in your freezer and never use it? NO.

Go home and do one of these things.
1. split the ground beef into individual 2lb/or whatever you prefer, and put them in freezer paper or plastic wrap and store them in a freezer tight container, either a bowl or freezer bag.
2. Cook all 10 pounds of meat. Divide into the amounts that you will use it as, 1/2lb, 1lb, 2lb etc. Then, if you need ground beef you are saving time because it'll already be cooked.
3. Make patties out of them. There are Tupperware containers that allow you to press patties and store them in their container, or you can press out the patties and put the butcher paper, plastic wrap or  freezer paper between each patty.

Here are some helpful tips from a friend of mine. This is what she does when she gets her 10# tubes of meat.

"You can even add your taco seasoning, spaghetti sauce, or maid rite sauce in with your meat so everything is ready. If you are cooking up all ten pounds, plan on throwing together some tater tot casseroles and lasagnas and freezing them too. I usually make a meatloaf and some meatballs too!"

Just so you know...it's not a very healthy situation if you take raw meat, freeze it, un-thaw it, cook it, and refreeze it. If you are wanting to have the meat cooked or have meals made, just make some time to do that when you first get the meat so that you don't forget.

What do you do with your ten pound tubes of ground beef?
