Dollar General Trip!

So today I went to the Dollar General and took advantage of my coupon that had printed on my receipt last week. On the Dollar General website, they offer store coupons, which can be stacked with manufacturer's coupons. On the site there were store coupons for $2/1 Huggies (posted quite a while back), $1/1 Windex Touch-up, and $1.50/1 Mio water enhancer. Unfortunately I did a big no-no; I forgot to read the fine print on the coupon. I didn't do anything illegal, it's just that when I got up to the register we couldn't figure out why it wouldn't scan more than one of my store coupons, then we read it. The coupon boldly states that you may only use 1 DG coupon per customer. So we had to void the entire transaction and I had to purchase a Windex touch-up and a Mio alone, in three transactions.

When I bought the Mio and Windex, I used my store coupons and then I also had MQ. For the Mio I had $1.50/1 Mio and for the Windex I had a printable $1.50/1 which I have posted about previously. After coupons, I spent a total of $1.28 after coupons and taxes. So for 3 Windex Touch-ups and 3 Mio water enhancers, I spent OOP $3.84. That sounds like a lot to some people, but I saved a total of $16.50 on all of those items too. :)

My final transaction is everything else. I purchased a packages of Huggies snug and dry diapers, $10.50, a Windex Touch-up $3.50 (sale this week), Mio water enhancer $3.00, Vidal Sassoon Color shampoo and conditioner $2.50 each, and 2 Gillette Venus razors, which the shelf tag says $5.50 but to my wonderful surprise when I got up to the counter they rang up for $4.85 each. So my total before taxes came to $31.70, which put me over my $30 requirement to have the store take $5 off my total receipt. After the $5 came off, it was time to get to business.
The coupons I used...
Windex Touch-up $1/1 DG coupon printable + $1.50/1 MQ printable.
Mio Water Enhancer $1.50/1 DG coupon printable + $1.50/1 tear pad coupon (found at fareway)
Huggies $2/1 DG coupon printable + $3/1 MQ printable
Venus razors $5/1 Venus razor exp 6/30 P&G coupon
Vidal Sassoon $2 peelie coupons on the product

After using all of these coupons I ended up spending $3.75 total.

It may seem like I spent a lot of money, well it does to me since my transactions didn't go quite as planned, (READ THE FINE PRINT), but overall I would rather spend $7.59 for all of this stuff any day. Want to know how much I saved? $41!!! Yep, I would have spent $48.59 for all of this stuff, no thank you! To put it into even awesomer (that's totally a word) terms, I saved 84%, that's a lot of cash staying in my pocket. For reals.

I don't know what to say to people, everyone gets into awe when I talk about my savings but when I offer to help they get all iffy. So I would love to help you but it's up to you to let me. Just ask. I don't bite.
